We had our reception at the deSeversky Center on NYIT campus. My main contact, Debbie Rhodes, was there for us from the very beginning. She was completely accomodating to me, my questions, and my freak outs. Most of our correspondences were done via email, but her response time was great and she always answered any and all of my questions and concerns. Our communication helped pave the way to a smooth wedding day. I also have to add that our maitre'd, Terrence, was nothing short of incredible on the day of the wedding. He had everything under control and was always there whenever we needed anything. He went above and beyond his call of duty, and it really helped the reception go by without a hitch. When I was stuck because the bustle on my train didn't hold up to all of the dancing, Terrence was right there to help me fix it. He was sharp, organized, and on top of everything. This, too, can be said for the entire staff, who were so helpful and knew how to work with my guests who weren't necessarily familiar with the hall and having cocktail hour in one room, dancing and dinner in another room, and dessert in another room. The service was impeccable and the staff was friendly and timely. The only thing that was lacking was the bridal attendant. We were supposed to have a bridal attendant, however, I do not recall him being there on our day. However, with Terrence there, everything was taken care so it really did not affect how things went that day. The food was DELICIOUS. I got so many compliments on how good the food was--and one guest even told me that this food was the best food he ever had at any wedding, hands down. The food was definitely well-prepared, fresh, tasty and plentiful. My experience with deSeversky was beyond top-notch. From the staff to the decor to the chef, deSeversky has been exceptional in every respect.

We were completely bowled over by the tremendous job that the entire staff of the De Seversky Mansion did to make our wedding day the most wonderful day of our lives. Everything exceeded all our expectations. The day went smoothly and better than planned, and a great deal of that was due to the mansion and its team. We knew we wanted to have our wedding at the De Seversky Mansion from the day we toured it. Grand, beautiful and old, we imagined instantly a Gatsbyesque 1920s party with all of our friends and family. Cocktail hour would be in the Library, the light-filled Terrace Room and on the sprawling grounds: great green lawns, a huge stone patio and views of a small lake and a perimeter of trees. Dinner would take place in a large dining room with half the tables under a glass enclosure on the patio. And dancing would be in the Ballroom, a huge room with dark wood paneling, a fireplace and large, low-hanging chandeliers. The Library and Terrace Room would be open again for those guests tired of dancing, who could sit and have coffee and dessert, or drinks. Eric Redlich (assisted by Gabrielle Dubey) at the mansion worked with us and was completely professional and hospitable. Every party is different, to be sure, but we had some unique requests, not the least of which was to have almost half the menu items made vegan. To this, as to everything, they responded affirmatively and enthusiastically. Guided by a favorite cookbook, the talented chefs made dishes that not only held up next to their regular fare, but were in most cases better than anything at the best vegan restaurants in NYC. Most of our guests were not vegan (the groom was), but they completely loved all the food. Eric and Gabrielle worked extremely hard to make sure we were satisfied with every step of the process. They kept reiterating that they knew this day was important to us and that we needed to be happy. We weren’t difficult, and we never would have had to have been: they took care of everything. Stated frankly, with the De Seversky Mansion, the venue and catering were the easiest part of our wedding planning. And the day was spectacular. We were blessed with sunshine and warm weather the first weekend of May. Our 175 guests were ready to party. The mansion, the decor, our guests’ outfits: it felt like a night out of time. Roger, the maître d’, and Damian, a service manager, were amazing. They attended to us all night and made sure we didn’t want for anything. They thought of what we might need before we needed it. There was no time to think about anything and Roger thought about it for us. The entire service staff impressed our guests with their hospitality. A spirit of excellence has infected the mansion. There was no lack of smiles and every want was answered. Cocktail hour, dinner and dancing all flowed so easily, opulently, memorably. The food was remarkable. It was really good, and not just good for wedding food. And there was a lot of it. I want to commend Eric, Gabrielle, Chef Robert Rizzuto and the entire staff for helping to make our wedding more special than we ever imagined. And to you, the Internet, I highly recommend the De Seversky Mansion for your wedding or special event.
Our wedding at the de Seversky Mansion was the most spectactular, beautiful and amazing event ever. We wanted the WOW factor and certainly received it. From the minute you pull up and see the mansion and the grounds it will take your breathe away! Everyone cannot stop talking about how personal and unique the wedding was. We had our pictures up all over the mansion to make it look like it was our home. Everyone could go from room to room and try all of the amazing food and the ballroom with all the flowers was just amazing! Roger and Damian took such good care of us that day and Melissa was always available if we hd questions about anything and made sure our day ran so smooth. We were able to enjoy every minute of our wedding and it was so much more than I ever dreamed of, I cannot recommend the de Seversky Mansion to host your wedding enough, it truley was an amazing event! My husband and I had our reception at the de Seversky Mansion and it was everything I had hoped for and more. I knew it was going to be great because I had already heard so many good things about the venue, but it was so much more than I expected. Eric was absolutely fantastic. Any request I had was met and there were great suggestions given along the way that made the night even better. The night of the wedding, Roger was fantastic, taking care of any small issue that came up. Everybody was raving about the food and how beautiful the setting was. I overheard people saying it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to- and that says a lot about the entire staff at the de Seversky Mansion, and how much time and effort they put in to everything. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a single thing.
We are so glad that we booked here – this place is where everything came together for us. We knew that we wanted to party in a mansion, something that really felt like a home, and not your typical catering hall. We looked at just about every mansion on the island and NOTHING compared to the DeSeversky Mansion. Everywhere else felt like a catering hall – this was the only venue that really truly felt like a home. The sales team is so professional and honest – they had everything covered. We have had so many of our friends screwed over by well known catering halls, that we were worried the same thing would happen to us. But we had nothing to worry about – from start to finish. Eric and Gabrielle are such a great team – I am so glad that we hired them – they are by far my favorite vendors. Day of – Damian (our MatireD) and his team of professionals were so wonderful to us. The staff was so accommodating to our guests and on top of every request. Many of my guests told us this was the best wedding they had ever been to - and hands down the best food and sevice. We ended up choosing the Sea Bass, Duck and Filet of Beef entrees – all of which were incredible and the desert café (Viennese hour) in the Library, which was so much fun. I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you want the wedding of your dreams, look no further. We are so lucky to have found them and we’re so happy we did.
