Yes Sand Castle allowed me to do a food tasting before I put a deposit
Our venue doesn't do a tasting at all you get 50% off your bill in the restaurant instead. However, FH and I only looked at places we've been to before (if we wouldn't have loved any of those we would have expanded our search)
Honestly, my husband and i felt that if a place wasn't willing to let us sample their food before giving them (quite a lot of money for us) a deposit, then they had something to hide. It's not necessarily true but we just weren't willing to spend all of our money to be disappointed in the food. Chateau Le Mer is where we went and they did tasting. We tried Westbury Manor, Swan Club, Coral House (all let us sample and all had great food)
Milleridge did a great tasting for us, and westbury manor said they would too
Depends on the place. About half did it before, the other half said they would do it after and return our deposit if we hated it.
