Thank Goodness...
It IS refreshing to hear from people that have something good to say about marriage. We used to also get the comment (in the first few months) 'WOW you both look SO GREAT ! YOU ARE BOTH GLOWING ! Marriage is working well on you' or something to that effect...and we'd be like 'huh'...people just dont know what to say....
We met one couple on our honeymoon that have become our new 'mom and dad'. We totally adore them. They are 77 and 74, married over 50 years, seeing them together is so uplifting. They are fun,HAPPY, HILARIOUS (oh the stories,lol, that would take too long!), and we still keep in touch with them 15 months later. (via email, theyre in AZ) They lead a more active and exciting lifestyle than mamy people I know half their age! I think meeting them was a blessing to us.... They are so positive about love, life and everything else..... :) Thats what keeps them so strong, physically fit and content.
