Hello all, My fiancé and I have narrowed down our venues to Bates house in Setauket or Bailey Arboretum in Locust valley. Now we're looking for a dj. We originally wanted to just use our iPod throughout the ceremony and reception, but realize that it's hard to get everyone hyped without someone leading the party. So we would be looking for a dj for the reception. I'm not totally familiar with how this works, I just know I'm a bit of a music snob and don't want any of the typical party songs ( or top 40 garbage). Any suggestions or advice would be awesome!

Dear Sara, You definitely do not want to use an ipod and all the grief with guests not liking the songs. I provide a one man DJ/MC - is a great DJ and a great MC. I have a 7 page questionnaire that covers every announcement, ceremony, music to be played as well as to be avoided. It is your wedding and we will play what you want. I provided the DJ for the wedding of the Editor or Redbook Magazine and she selected every song to be played, Please feel free to call me at 631-754-0594 or email me at stan@stanwiest.com
