Hi everyone-
It turns out that the son of a close family friend (who I've known since birth and is now 13) I just found out can play the guitar very well. When I heard this, I originally wanted him to play the processional/recessional music for our ceremony (instead of the organist that is provided through our chapel). When I brought the idea up to my FH, his initial reaction was 'this isn't an 8th grade talent show'. After getting over my initial hurt feelings (my mom even says he is a wonderful guitar player - and would have over a year to learn the songs!), I said well why don't we have him play a song to break up the ceremony a bit, like we've seen at many weddings (once we saw a cousin of the bride sing, she was only 15, and it was great). Does anyone have any song suggestions that might sound nice on an acoustic guitar to be played at the ceremony (but not sung). Also, do you think this is an unrealistic request? Thanks in advance for listening to me vent and for your always helpful suggestions...

Re: Ceremony song suggestions...
There is a guitar arrangement for PACHELBEL CANON also known as Canon in D (Pachelbel) that would sound beautiful and is not too difficult. With a little preactie it would be elegant and impressive sounding on the guitar.Hope this helps you. Good luck. Re: Ceremony song suggestions...
I found a few additional songs for you that would work on acoustic guitar and be beautiful during the ceremony. 'Bridge Over Trouble Waters' by Simon and Garfunkle 'Minuet' by J.S. Bach Some of the early Paul Mc Cartney-John Lennon songs such as 'And I Love Her' are easy and beautiful. There is also an acoustic guitar arrangement of 'Ave Maria' You can also go to a music store such as SAM ASH MUSIC - they have guitar collections of wedding music. They have many stores. You can also go to the website http://www.sheetmusicplus.com for additional guitar wedding selections. If you want the guitar you should have it. You also have the benefit of time on your side. This way the performer can become very comfortable with the music. I think it would be a beautiful gesture for you to ask him to play guitar at your wedding.I hope I was of help to you. If you have any problem please feel free to contact me at my email stan@stanwiest.com and I will continue trying to help you. STAN WIEST A.
