Tuxedos

Tuxedos

Our wedding is at the end of September and we need to do tuxes; nothing like waiting until the last minute.

Fiance ordered a 'test tux' from theblacktux.com and while the quality was great, the pants were a little long and he's worried about all the guys having proper-fitting tuxes since it's all done through the website.

He was measured for the test tux at Jos. A. Bank and he saw that they did tux rentals. Has anyone ever rented from them before? I've heard horror stories about Men's Wearhouse so I kinda don't want to go there.

Or, can anyone recommend a good tux place in Nassau County? We don't want colored vests or ties, just a regular classic black tux for everyone.

We are using bonadventure tuxedo in minneola. The owner is so nice and helpful. And if you're renting 6 tuxes the groom is free! Total each tux wound up being about 220 after tax

Foresto Tux in Mineola.

I believe Men's Wearhouse bought Jos A. Bank...?

I didn't know that! Thanks for the heads up. I was in a wedding where the groomsmen had nothing but trouble with them, so I am a little wary.

Tuxedo Park in Carle Place. FH used them for a friends wedding and they were fantastic. FH already went for his rental and fitting there. Very knowledgable, have a variety of beautiful suits from top designers and a wide range of sizes and options. FH was able to try on his full tux. They even have about ten different types of shoes to choose from. Highly recommend!

We had a horrible experience at Men's Warehouse. They don't have anything for the groom to try on. You have to go by what a mannequin and fabric swatches looks like.

We are thinking of using theblacktux.com as well but super nervous about how the fitting works
How was the quality of the suit. They seem to be the most modern rental option we've found so far

I thought the quality of the tux was ok. His mom was not impressed, though. The pants were definitely too long, I'm actually not sure how that could have happened. The jacket was just a bit too tight as well.

I really love the concept of theblacktux.com and was really hoping it would work out. However, there would have been barely any time to fix mistakes since the wedding is coming up very soon.

Just FYI - one of his groomsman is in another wedding the week before and they all used theblacktux.com for their suits and everything fits great and looks great.

Oh, and we went with Bonaventure tuxedos and they were great to work with. We got the same look that he was going for with theblacktux.com (just a classic tuxedo, slim fit)
