Sparkling Pointe Winery Rant- Avoid like the plague!
I just had my bachelorette party this past Saturday and it was the best time ever! My bridesmaids arranged a party bus for 24 of my friends and family members to take to the wineries. Our first stop was going to be Sparkling Pointe winery, where I was engaged. Unfortunately, that ended up to not be the case.
Upon arriving at Sparkling Pointe, a parking lot attendant started yelling at our bus driver to leave. At this point two of my bridesmaids went inside with the confirmed reservation number to speak to a manager to tell them we had a reservation for a tasting. (A tasting that everyone paid extra for because Sparkling Pointe charges double what other wineries charge for a tasting). The manager on duty, Mike, was literally yelling at them to leave. He claims he didn't have the reservation and refused to look at a picture of the confirmed reservation or speak to a representative from the bus company that made the reservation. He threatened to call The police if the bus did not leave the premise. Since my bridesmaids wanted to make my day special and they know that winery had special meaning, they were really trying to reason with Mike to see how they could accommodate us. The winery had PLENTY of room. After about ten minutes, I went inside and told them Not to bother fighting anymore that we will just go To the next winery. I told Mike that he was ruining my Bachelorette party and he literally laughed at me, along with another female employee. My bridesmaid actually told me that this manager Mike said to her, as soon as she walked in, 'Bring it' like he was ready to fight.
I am so disgusted at this manager and the fact that he thinks it's acceptable to speak to paying customers that way. Actually, just to speak to women that way! He just lost 24 paying customers, plus all of our friends and family members who we are telling the story to.
Of course we all went on Yelp and Facebook to write horrible reviews. Apparently turning away large parties with confirmed reservations happens frequently at Sparkling Pointe, according to the numerous bad reviews on Yelp and Facebook.
Do yourself a favor ladies and avoid this place! So many other beautiful wineries with amazing wine and customer service to go to. We ended up going to Laurel Lake and Osprey's Dominion and both places were welcoming to our party and we had the best time!
