Our RSVP date is fast approaching and we have barely received half of our RSVP's. I was thinking about posting on Facebook (for only invited guests to see) as a reminder the date is coming soon. I don't want to be rude, but we are having our seating chart hand written on a chalkboard so I don't have much time to chase down 75 people. Is it tacky?
I would wait - if the RSVP date has not arrived yet just wait and see what you have at that time. People sometimes wait until lat minute to drop in mail - annoying, but true, After the date passes, you can reach out to people on email or FB message.
I also would wait until the RSVP date has passed
We call ed people a couple days before hand because we found out some invites never made it to the guests, just to verify they received. The date just passed so we are starting to call/text/email those we haven't heard from.
