Last month I came up to look at venues ( I live in Boca Raton FL)and liked a few venues but none of them had that wow this is it feeling for me. So now we are coming back up for Thanksgiving and are planning to look at a few more. We have narrowed our search to only Nassau bc many people live in NJ. So far we plan on seeing the North Ritz club and the Inn at New Hyde park and maybe the village club at lake success. Any ideas for one or two more? Also going to look in New Rochelle and jersey as well ( Greentree, glen island, vip and surf). We are planning for 165 people and want to stay under 160 per person for a oct 2015 wedding. If any one has been to any of these places and has thoughts I would so appreciate them or any suggestions. THANK YOU!

As you saw in my post North Ritz has been such a pleasure throughout our whole planning process! AND you have the whole place to yourself! They only do one event at a time, so the whole focus is on YOU :) I so vote North Ritz haha, also check out The Woodlands!

We saw north ritz and loved it but they didn't have our date available. Their quoted prices include tip so you only have to add tax- they also have up lighting standard in the room, plenty of cocktail hour seating, and a huge dance floor. I think we would have gotten more value and food for our money there. when you look at the menu, she asked us about any extras we wanted and then offered to throw them in for free. ( we would have gotten a Viennese hour, extra food station, etc) Definitely was a contender for us but we fell in love with the idea of milleridge for the holidays.
I've been to glen island for school events and the view is fantastic. Food was always good, not sure of the setup for a wedding. My sister got married at the surf club in 09 and I could not think of one complaint. I've read more recent reviews that make me think the quality has gone downhill but it is a beautiful place.

Enjoy--we are headed to Boca Raton for Thanksgiving. I've been to weddings at VIP and Surf Club--both were wonderful. Just curious, have you considered NJ venues? I went to a wedding recently at the Rockleigh and it was wonderful.
What kind of venue are you looking for, or what didn't you like about the ones you saw? We wanted something completely different so we are getting married at a rustic beer garden.

Thanks for your input about North Ritz!!....That seems great I really want a Viennese hour and I like that their price includes tips I have also read iffy reviews on surf club so I am a little nervous. I guess I will try to feel it out when we go visit Thanks so much for the info! @gonnabefrank You will love Boca for thanksgiving the weather is hot hot hot! We looked at a lot of places in jersey and I fell in love with the crystal plaza. They quoted us 260 for a sat night though, that was way beyond out price point. They wouldn't quote over the phone so we found out after I saw it and loved it. I think the rockleigh is also above our price point too. I have heard wonderful things about it though. At first I really wanted a mansion or unique type venue and now I honestly feel confused about what I really want. We saw woodlands and I really liked it but FH didn't. A beer garden sounds so cool and different! I think just because we have a limited time to make a decision when we are here its really hard. I'm crossing my fingers that we both really like someplace this time.
