Newly Engaged!! :) xoxo

Hey! I am brand new to the site and have been reading through many of the forums realizing this may save my sanity when it comes to wedding planning!! I just got engaged less than a week ago and am very excited to get started on planning and looking around To find our perfect place! I am looking for a place by the water since my fiance LOVES the water, and in Nassau County to accommodate our very scattered family! We have two dates in mind October 14th or 28th in 2016, which are both Friday nights. So excited to get started!!! :))) Any advice on where to start would be greatly appreciated since I have no clue where to begin!

Congrats!!! I just got engaged a week ago on vday. I'm also doing a oct 2016 wedding hopefully. I would say first figure out a budget and guest list. Then start calling some venues and try to get a rough estimate on what they charge pp and go from there. Good luck! xoxo

Some venue ideas (although I don't know pricing because I only looked in Suffolk County): Crescent Beach Club, Bridgeview Yacht Club, The Riviera

Thank you!! I am going to start writing up a rough guest list. What is considered to be kids? Since we will definitely be having adults and kids at the wedding.

I've usually seen 12 and under is 1/2 price. And depending on the venue some are free (I've seen under 3 and under 5 generally)

Definitely look at the crescent beach club if you're a fan of the water!

Welcome and congrats!! Kids at my venue are 1/3 off BUT only after the minimum is met, so that's something to keep in mind. Definitely make a rough guest list so you know about how many people you're willing to guarantee. Definitely check out Venetian yacht club, bridgeview yacht club, the riviera. you have fm with my general list of venues I contacted with prices.

Congrats! I may be biased but I recommend the Riviera - its in Massapequa, and its on the water (private, so no random people can just pull up on their boat). It's a very different venue, but we love it! All beautiful hardwood floors, with a gorgeous view of the water. I'll FM you some prices1

A friend told me to take 40 % of my total wedding budget and divide it by the number of guests I plan to have. The number you get is roughly what your all in venue and catering cost is (including tax and any service charges). That was pretty helpful. As for any venues overlooking the water, in Addition to the ones mentioned above, check out sea cliff manor.

Chateau la mer in lindenhurst is on th water and beautiful. I've been to two weddings there and they were both great Weather permitting they bring the bride and groom to their cocktail hour by boat

Congrats & Welcome! It's not my venue but its a close friends and FH step sisters venue - The Bridgeview Yacht Club. The pricing is fantastic, the views are all water and they really have a gorgeous set up. I am a bridesmaids in my friends wedding there this April and the room upstairs that they use for smaller parties is the Bridesmaids suite for her girls - extremely accommodating and the food is delicious. Can't say much about other venues cause my brother got married at Crest Hollow Coutnry Club and I'm getting married at the Atlantis. Suffolk County was a better choice for our needs. It helps that you know what county you are looking to focus on - you are steps in the right direction!

I contacted Bridgeview and they quoted me 126 including tax and service fees. Does that sound about right?
