I was wondering whether you guys negotiate with the venues or not? I read on weddingbee that it's pretty common. But how successful?
I'd also appreciate specific info via private message if you are willing to share. :)

You have FM with my venue pricing. I put other because we did negotiate with them, but were unsuccessful money-wise. The group that owns Fox Hollow is very well known and well esgtablished so they basically dont negotiate pricing, especially for a friday or saturday night in high season. They wouldn't budge on price or guarantee.. but they did throw in a few extras to make us feel more comfortable.. we're getting a total value of about $3K in extras.

I put Other as well. My venue gave me an extra half hour of cocktail hour, an upgrade in entrees, and a dessert station for $5 more a person (which to me, is a steal). I will also send you my quotes :)

I raised my minimum to get my pp down $10. I got a few upgrades added in as well.

We did and they knocked it down about $5 per plate or a little more, and that really helped!

knocked down the pp price by $5 and added an extra dessert station ($750 value).
