NEED ADVICE: ENGAGEMENT PARTY BUDGET DILEMMA!!

Hey Ladies--

Im so torn. FH's parents have limited budget for engagement party... So it is either rent a VFW type hall and have his cousins restaurant (WHICH IS FANTASTIC !!) cater the party ***** on Friday evening..and he would hook it up and give us a lot of food for a low price.... ORRR... have an upscale boozy brunch on a Sat Daytime 12pm-4pm...would include passed horduerves, four entree buffet, unlimited sodas, coffees, mimosas and bloody marys and assorted brownies cookies and cannolis at the end...

What do you think is better? A night party at a not so fancy place with AWESOME food?

Or an upscale Boozy brunch on a Saturday day time? Higher end type place

Price difference is $4pp so it really could go either way. I just can't decide what would be better.

I know I shouldn't care either way- its a time to celebrate our happy news! but i still wanted you all to weigh in on which route you would go

Thanks as always gals!! <3

in my eyes food is whats on point. it doesn't matter if the place is not so fancy, because you will be enjoying each others company that it wouldn't matter what the decor looks like.

I would pick the hall. You have your own place to yourself with delicious food on a Friday evening. It's private, so you can bring in your own drinks, decor, DJ, etc. No matter how much I love you, I would hate to give up a Saturday day in the summer for a party. :)

We did mason jars. I used chalkboard paint and pained a line on all of them. Then made a sign that said 'yours for the night, fill it with whatever tastes right' so everyone came in, took a jar, wrote their name on it & got to keep the jar
