So we had the blank license from the clerks office, filled it out and signed it when we got married, and i got a copy of that. Apparently the church sends the original one into the state. Do we then get an official one? No one has really explained how that works lol. I know i need a copy of our license in order to start changing my name, but will my copy from church work or do we get an official certificate license or something? TIA!

Re: Marriage license AFTER the ceremony
Yes your official one (marriage certificate it's called) comes a week or two after the wedding or whenever the priest mails it in

We just got ours in the mail a few days ago. Depends where you filed and how busy they are.

You can also hand deliver your license if you like to micro manage like me :)
just make sure it gets to the county clerk within 5 days of the ceremony!
