When in the room with your banquet manager you are being recorded. There are signs very sneakily posted off to the side so you almost cant see them to allow them to do it because in NYS you cannot record someone without their knowing. We didn't realize it until we sat down and the woman said, gimme a few moments to go get our brochures and refreshments;
My fiancee and I were talking bout how it looked like they didn't offer as much as other places, how we would absolutely NOT book for more than $85 a person, and how much we liked a few places more.
When the woman came back in she started comparing the place to others we had just mentioned, said how many extra things that she would throw in, AND then magically gave us the exact price we said we wouldn't go over. Thats when I noticed the sign to her right almost hidden behind the plasma screen behind her
This woman wasn't clairvoyant she was listening to us the entire time. My parents got married here around 35 years ago, so I was really excited to check this out. Its a catering factory now though. Each room smells of different foods too, even while there was no events going on. The bridal suite she showed us would barely fit 5 people, lastly the fact that they were listening in on us just made the experience that much worse
I'm sure this is a wonderful place for some people but the recording thing just turns me off entirely
That's CRAZY!! And if they're doing it I'm sure other places are too and nobody's noticed!! Scary!

I was actually surprised nobody else had posted something about this. I'm sure it happens other places, but if there is no signage to alert you its illegal

I too fell in love with Crest hallow but we were in the emerald room and a wedding in the room next to the plaza I forgot it star something you could hear it...regarding the chair seat covers since they were charging for it and the draping in the plaza room..i asked if that could be included at no charge since the chairs were not in the greatest condition and those drapes are hardly removed...they have the most absolute gorgeous places to take pictures...the cocktail hour was inside not outside they were charging for that I think 1200...but have to say I never knew they had cameras or mics in their offices...creepy

That would explain a lot! FH and I had first booked here for September 2015 then changed our minds and went with Oheka Castle. I knew something sneaky was going on because they quoted us at 74 pp for a Saturday night in September. I believe they do record you. That's disgusting.

Did you pay extra for beer? I just found out that they only have two selections! If you did pay extra was it reasonably priced? Thanks in advance
