Alterations on LI

Bought my dress at RK Bridal in NYC....it won't be delivered until April 2015. I made 4 alteration/fitting appointments there for July and early August (but my wedding is August 28th), since they were already booked through the spring. I'd rather not have to pay for the train to the city and have to wait until summer to start alterations.

Can anyone recommend places for alterations on LI (I live in Massapequa, so somewhere in Eastern Nassau or Western Suffolk is ideal)? The dress fit fine when I bought it, so may only need 1/2' or so taken in at waist (granted that my weight doesn't change!). And is it weird to get my dress altered at a bridal salon if I didn't purchase it there?

Can you send me information too summerbridejen? I asked about alterations a few weeks ago on here and didn't get a response.

I also got my dress at RK Bridal too and am scheduled in March for alterations and I am having the same thoughts too.

I also got my dress from RK Bridal but I saw horrible reviewa online about their alterations department so currently looking for somewhere else to get my dress altered. it was supposed to come in 2 weeks ago but im still waiting to get the call about it having arrived.
