Is anyone else having an A list and a B list? There are so many people we want to invite but can`t afford to so we made 2 lists. Our wedding is in August. The rsvp date is July. I`m thinking of sending out the A list invites this month so there`s enough time to send out any B invites. Am I sending the invites out too early? Will anyone be suspicious about getting an invite so early?

A and B Guest List
I intend to send out a b list invite with every 'no' response i get... that way people will be less likely to notice. I've heard that people who know they will not be able to attend respond quickly... so there wont be a huge time difference to when people get their invites if you do this..( aweek or two)

A and B Guest List
My problem is that we had to guarantee our hall 120 people, and thought that we were not going to make it, so now we have 178. WOW!! But is cutting out the and'guest' rude to do, rather an A or B list? What are your thoughts? These people are our friends and are not seeing anyone, and have not since I have known my FI. So is cutting out the and guest ok to do, just to get my list down? Sorry to have went off the subject here. Thanks!!

A and B Guest List
I don't think you're obligated to include 'and guest' especially if they're not seeing anyone. The only time you need to include 'and guest' is if they're dating someone and you know that person or if they're living together. In these cases however, it would be best to put a name on the invitation rather than just 'and guest'.

A and B Guest List-Maria J and Soolie
Soolie-It actually tends to work in the opposite way for the most part. Most of the yes`s come early.
A&B lists are not a bad idea but I would try to send the B list invites no less than 1 1/2 months before. It`s a delicate balance, especially when you have a minimum to meet but a maximum that you don`t want to go beyond for the sake of your budget. It all works itself out in the end.
Maria-I don`t think anyone would be suspicious of getting an invite so early, and even if they realize what you are doing - hey, they`re on the A list. It`s the B list people that you don`t want to offend. We didn`t exactly do an A & B list but my husband kept remembering people he wanted to add and we extended those invites later than the others. No one really got offended because we said something about it to them, that we we had been trying to cut down, etc. It was all very cool.

A and B Guest List Cutting '& Guest
There is no rule for single/not attached guests. Its perfectly ok to invite a group of friends with out guests. Your guests may actually not having to 'dig some one up' for your wedding.

A and B Guest List--what we are doing
We are having A and B lists as well. Our wedding is in October and most of the guests are from out of state, so we are sending the list A invitations mid-June--due at the end of July. Then we are sending out the B list invitations, and those will have a response date of Sept 20, which is a month before our wedding.

...and guest
We are not inviting guests of our guests either. Unless they are married or engaged or are considered a couple we are not inviting radom guests of people just so they have a date. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

A and B Guest List
Maria,
We know the feeling!! We have so many people we want to invite. What we are going to do is send out family invites in Jan. for our April wedding next year. Then, according to how many declines we get, we will know exactly how many friends can be sent inivtes in Feb.
