Long Island Engagement Announcements

A warm welcome and congratulations to Ashley Dethlefsen and Thomas Ryan on their recent engagement. An extended congratulations to their respective families, as well; Liz and Jeff; Beth and Mike. Ashley, a graphic designer, and Thomas, in installation and service of hydraulic lifts, were engaged on August 31, 2013 at Insignia Prime Steak and Sushi. 'The night of August 31, 2013 was a night to remember. Tommy and I always talked about going out on a dinner date and dressing up, but it never happened. Both Tommy and I have been working overtime and so hard that I brought it up to his attention again about going on this dinner date. He said, yes lets plan it and do it this Saturday, August 31st. On the Tuesday before, I set up the dinner reservations and got a really nice black and white dress for the occasion. The day came and Tommy wanted to get a different outfit so we shopped at Kohls. He picked out nice light purple dress shirt, grey pants, tie, and a sports Jacket to go with it all. I was so shocked that he wanted to get this dressed up, but he was going to look handsome. We get home and of course he needs to get a haircut and we are already running late to the dinner reservations. He finally gets home and we take a quick shot outside of his house before we are off to dinner. We arrive to Insignia Steak and Sushi a bit passed our reservation time and sat down with some wine and had a really nice appetizer and dinner. It was then time for desert and I told Tommy I was so stuffed and that its out of the picture. As we wait for the wait staff to come over the server put fancy donuts on the table. I looked at Tommy and told him I was not paying for this nor did we order this. So he then tells me to get out of the booth because he wanted to hug me. First off hugging in front of hundreds of people in a nice restaurant was not what I wanted to do, but I did it anyways. I got out of the booth and he hugged me and told me he loved me. Then I see him go into his pocket and at that moment I knew this was the big day I've been waiting for 7 years for. I started crying and he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. It was the most amazing feeling in the world; everyone clapping and cheering in the restaurant and congratulating us. Prior to the engagement he set up this whole thing with the restaurant himself. The donuts were his cue to ask me to marry him. He even slipped his phone to the hostess to have them film the engagement. I couldn't be any happier to be his fiance.' The happy couple is looking forward to their Long Island wedding.
