Re: ME and John Anthony are HOME SWEET HOME !

Hi girls,

Sorry I havent been around. Got my stitches removed today (yep ALREADY !!) I was gonna ask the doc if it was gonna hurt, and I had to laugh at myself, after what I went through, I would ask if snipping a few stitches would hurt ??? HAH.

John Anthony had his first Dr's apptmt. All is well.
I took pictures, they probably think im nuts, lol.

Remember when we posted how to write John Anthony if I want him called John Anthony ? Its funny because on the form at the Dr's office they ask NAME and then WHAT YOU WANT CHILD TO BE CALLED and I specifically put JOhn Anthony in both slots, and sure enough they call him to be seen by the Dr. 'Johhhnnn ???' so i said to DH, there goes 'John ANthony' . He doesnt mind in the least because thats actually what he wants and prefers, but I really love the name Anthony.
I guess whatever he is called in school, I wont be able to help it, and as he grows up and has his own personality, he will decide what he wants to be called. Is John Anthony that long of a name ?? BOO HOO. There so many names that are 4 syllables that people use, why pick on my name ?? LOL. and spelling it all as one makes it awkward. Some Italian names like GianLuca (another one of my favorites!!!) and GianCarlo - they ARE spelled as one, but it LOOKS different spelled that way as one, it looks right... i dont know.. any opinions ??

Phyl, youre on the countdown !!! I cant wait to hear news ? It will fly by ! How are you feeling ?
Are you planning to breastfeed ? Just wondering because I am, and I am finding it VERY challenging this first week. My sis is BFing her youngest 2, ages 20months (yep shes nuts) and 3 months, and she is the best pillar of strength and devotion out there on breastfeeding, and even with her a phone call away, I am kinda struggling... thats another
post...

Elizabeth, how ya doin ??

Thanks again everyone for your well wishes..!!

My sis loves you all ! and will be back to say hello!
Debbie, she lives right by you, you should go out for a cup of coffee !!

Re: ME and John Anthony are HOME SWEET HOME !

My opinion on the name John Anthony is that if you want to use it, don't hesitate to say 'His name is John Anthony' or 'We prefer John Anthony' or however you feel like phrasing it to let people know that Anthony is not just his middle name but the name you prefer. You may or may not down the line decide to call him John but I think at less than 1 week old (or is it a week already?!?), you have a right to use the name you chose for him. People will easily catch on but you know with practically anything, there are those people who will need to be corrected. My nephew is John Nicholas. My SIL only recently started calling him John without the Nicholas, I think mainly because she named her youngest is Nicholas 1 1/2 years ago but anyway the point I was going to make was that she called him John Nicholas, the family all called him John Nicholas and so he was always introduced that way, and most people understood that he was not just John. It just takes a little correcting at times but no, it's not a hard name at all. You should definitely not have to defer to what more common for people so soon.

LOL about the stitches coming out hurting...that's something I would ask!

I dont think it is too long at all-- and I agree with Elizabeth --it is really up to the parents in the beginning to stress the name that you want-- My cousin had James Anthony(our RB) and he will always be James Anthony to me and to most but now that he is 9 we tend to just say James-- I love Anthony too!!!! wish DH would allow it!!!
He is afraid cause I always say Antny as a joke!!!
