LisaT - most of the restaurants are casual. Nothing too fancy...even for the really nice restaurants it's more of a casual dressy.
Always pack a shawl or cardigan for the nights...the breeze off the water can be chilly....

Lisa--if you have time and are into ruins--go to Paestum. It's the best preseved Greek ruins in the world. They're located about an hour southeast of Positano. Here's some of my pictures of it. It's a great drive and an awesome place to visit!!
