Re: Earthquake!
I am in Queens- I think they wanted to make sure there were no cracks in the foundation. We were allowed back in after they checked. It was pretty scary though.

Re: Earthquake!
I can only imagine how you people in the city feel. Jesus. I'm in a 2 story apartment building and thought I was experiencing vertigo for a minute...

Re: Earthquake!
We felt it here on the 43rd floor right above Grand Central. We were told we could leave if we were scared, but asked to stay. I'm the only one who stayed. I deserve a day off or a cookie or something for this.
ETA: The building has been checked and there is absolutely no damage and they are not calling for an evacuation.

Re: Earthquake!
We are right by Wall Street .. our whole building started shaking.. Slowly people started getting their stuff and looking around. But the news was pretty good about getting the word out.

ugh that's all i could think of as we were going down the stairs. i wasn't in the city for 9/11 but the thought of hundreds of ppl going down the stairs as the bldg collapsed wouldn't leave my mind. i wanted to just run downstairs and get out

I was in a basement watching my friend's kids. The couch started to shake and they have a key chain collection that started to shake. It was creepy!

Oooh that sounds delicious! Yes, please! Everyone actually came back now- after their hour long smoke break. You should've seen the way these grown women ran, screaming from this building. I was embarassed for them. I understand the post-9/11 terror and everything but standing directly outside of a building that you suspect is going to fall isn't the brightest thing to do. Neither is getting on the elevator or better yet, the subway.
