Icy-Hot Wedding: Winter Wedding Trends for 2015

October 5, 2015

You heart may still be in summer mode, but NOW is the time to think about your winter nuptials. And, when it comes to what’s trending,  it’s all about a less is more approach. Think about a natural, understated palette that takes it cue less from the holiday season and more from “Mother Nature”. Consider silver and white with crystal accents for that added ambiance and WOW factor. Use acorns as place card holders, or how about handing out clear umbrellas if you plan on having your ceremony outdoors….and don’t forget to use seasonal branches and flowers for a naturally beautiful backdrop to your “I Dos”. Add intrigue to your interior with ice sculptured vases filled with tall white branches with dangling crystals. You’ll also want to think about using votive candles and elegant frosted china. Consider treating guests to a seasonally sensational hot cocoa and apple cider bar. Also consider serving up some seasonally inspired cocktails. You’ll also want to think about a seasonally appetizing cocktail hour replete with seasonal treats such as butternut squash parsnip and apple soup as well as traditional and trendy seasonal desserts. Get in good favor with your guests by handing out some seasonally inspired favors. How about bags of roasted chestnuts (freshly made and handed to guests) as they walk out the door. You can also think about sending guests home with pancake mix and fresh maple syrup or packets of flavorful hot cocoa. Instead of a tradition honeymoon, think outside the box and opt for a week in a romantic log cabin…or how about jet-setting off to Aspen for some time on the slopes by day and some serious snuggling by night.
