Elegant Gents: Old Time Trends for Contemporary Men

Elegant Gents: Old Time Trends for Contemporary Men

March 14, 2018

There is something sexy about a man who is rugged yet refined…and no one did both better than the men of the past. Today history is repeating with styles from the past setting the stage for today’s gallant groom and his men.

Here are just some daring trends dapper Dan’s want to miss, especially if you want to impress your future Mrs.

1. Sexy Streamlined Suits: “Skinny” pants are NOT just for the ladies any more. Fitted suits from back in the 50s are making a comeback and are helping guys bring classy back.

2. Manly accessories: From sophisticated suspenders and haute (vintage) hats and caps to bow ties and vests it’s all about looking sporting and sang froid.

3. Selective Style: Allowing your entourage express themselves and their own style is another hot trend and another way to personalize and customize YOUR special celebration. Give guys an option and let each of them pick out their own shirt, ties, shoes etc…as long as they stick with the retro theme….and maintain a complementary match to the ladies.

4. Classically Casual:  Mixing and matching corduroys or jeans with a dress shirt, vest and sport coat…even pairing slacks with sweater and bow ties are considered casual chic and are a hot hipster trend this season.

5. Opt For English Elegance: Nothing says regal like English sophistication. Think tweeds, herringbone, fishbone, paisley, etc. Top off you look with a top hat, ascot, umbrella or other oh-so-British accessory for an old world timeless trend that’s also quite traditional.

6. Go for the Gatsby: For the more modern male, think 1920 art deco elegance…replete with pocket squares, pocket watches, and two toned shoes.
